Adult Mental Health First Aid is appropriate for anyone of at least 18 years of age who wants to learn how to help a person who is experiencing a mental health crisis or problem. Topics covered include depression, anxiety, psychosis and addictions.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach teachers, family members, caregivers, school staff, health and human services workers and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health challenge or is in crisis. This program is primarily designed for adults who have regular contact with young people. The course covers common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (AD/HD), and eating disorders.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is an approved curriculum for the Arizona Department of Education required Suicide Prevention Training.
